Motto "Venture Adventure"
Are you up for gliding or flying - and going solo?
Fancy some fieldcraft, first aid and military skills?
Could you learn more about computers or model making or airframe engineering?
Want some adventure - how about rock climbing, abseiling or expeditions?
The Air Cadets are a voluntary youth organisation sponsored by the Royal Air Force. The Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme is strongly encouraged, and many senior cadets achieve their Gold Award. The Air Cadets encourage a practical interest in aviation, and help young people to develop a spirit of adventure and bring out their qualities of leadership. It is open to young people from ages 13 to 20. Most large towns have an Air Cadet Squadron, with some 30-50 teenagers parading twice a week. Smaller towns may have a detached flight of up to 30 young people.
Could you become an Adult Instructor with the Air Cadets? Are you keen to help young people, enthusiastic to have a go yourself or maybe have some expert skills to offer? Both uniformed and civilian instructors are welcomed.
