If you are looking to hold a meeting, a reception, an exhibition, even a place to carry out training or to play a game of badminton, then why not consider hiring your local TA Centre.  Rates vary according to usage, but the typical rate for the hire of a Drill Hall starts from £21.00 per hour.

Cambridgeshire

A modern TA Centre with a very large light hall, equally suitable for badminton clubs or exhibitions. Upstairs there is a well appointed lounge and bar area and a conference room. Additional classrooms can be made available.  There is ample parking on site, and it is easy to find on the southern edge of Cambridge.

CUOTC & 36 Sig Sqn

Without doubt the best venue in the region, this modern TA Centre is built on the shores of a lake on the southern edge of Cambridge, just off the Ring Road, next to Sainsbury’s.  There is a conference room for 120, with a bar / reception area and patio overlooking the lake.  A recent addition is a dining area for about 90, also with direct access to the lakeside patio.  A small meeting room for 20 and a number of breakout classrooms are also available.  For the adventurous, there is a small obstacle course at the far end of the lake. 

There is normally ample parking, but although this is constrained 2011-2013 by other developments, there is still sufficient available.

Cambridgeshire ACF Cadet Training Centre

The 100 bed cadet training centre at Waterbeach contains a dormitory wing, capable of accommodating a mix of male and female youngsters and adults.  A kitchen and dining room lead off from the central foyer, as does a sunny and recently refurbished social area.  This has sliding doors onto a secluded outdoor patio with tables and a barbecue. 

A recent extension has provided a large classroom area, capable of division into two smaller rooms, in addition to the existing classroom.  Surrounded by its own grassed area, there is pedestrian access directly onto Waterbeach training area (for which a separate booking must be made).  There is also ample parking on site.

Essex

151 Tpt Regt RLC – 124 Pet Sqn RLC

On the southern edge of Brentwood, this modern TA Centre has a large hall, with a bar area opening onto it, and several other classrooms on the ground floor.  There is ample parking in front of the building, which is easy to find opposite the Fords European HQ at the top of Warley hill.

Built in 1993, this modern, light TA centre has a very large hall, with large bar area opening off on one side and a professionally appointed kitchen on the other.  This makes it ideally suited to host exhibitions, functions or training events.  

Upstairs is a conference room that can also be used for a small dinner for about 30 people, and classrooms are also available.  There is ample parking in the grounds.  The TA centre is well signposted in the business park backing on to B&Q in Springfield.

36 Sig Sqn, 158 Tpt Regt and Det 254 Med Regt

This 1980s building in the heart of Colchester Garrison has a standard sized, well lit drill hall, with professional kitchen and bar area leading off it. There is a fine conference room upstairs.  The ample grounds provide large areas of car parking and the grassed areas could support a large marquee.

Norfolk

A Coy 3 R Anglian, Tp 6 AAC, Det 254 Med Regt and Det CUOTC

A period 1930s Territorial Army Centre situated on the outskirts of Norwich, with over a hectare of grounds and ample parking.  The large main hall is excellent for badminton and through use of drapes converts to a marquee style dining room for 120 people.  There is an Officers mess with a 20 seat dining table for smaller functions.  A lecture theatre with raked seats can hold 60 and there are a number of smaller classrooms available. 

The highly visible site is on Aylsham Road just inside the Norwich Ring Road to the north west of the city.

6 Regt AAC - 677 Sqn AAC

A period TA centre from the 1930s, with a large upstairs conference room straight from the pages of military history.  There is a very large hall, suitable for badminton or exhibitions.  There is ample parking within the grounds, and it is in the centre of Swaffham.  

There could be scope for short term storage arrangements on site.

Norfolk & Suffolk ACF Cadet Training Centre

The cadet training centre at Thetford contains a 100 bed dormitory wing, capable of accommodating a mix of male and female youngsters and adults.  A kitchen, dining room and social area cater for the same number.  

In a corner of the grounds is a small memorial garden to former cadets who have died on recent operations.  There are also grassed areas for general activities and car parking. 

A half mile down the road is a large sports centre and within a 10 mile radius are  the STANTA military training area, Go Ape and other facilities.

Suffolk

158 Tpt Regt - 202 Tpt Sqn RLC

Ipswich TA centre has a standard sized hall, easily able to seat 100 people, and suitable for presentations or events.  Two classrooms are also available on the ground floor and there is a bar and social area upstairs.

With ample parking in the grounds, and well sited on the Yarmouth road, this is an easy venue to find.

HQ 3 R Anglian & 677 Sqn AAC

This 1980s TA centre has a charming wood panelled conference room upstairs.  It also has two smaller bar / social areas and a standard sized hall.  Classrooms are also available. 

There is parking within the grounds, and the venue is on the North West edge of Bury St Edmunds, a short way off the A14.
